Picked up a Vamo V3 today, boy is it ugly. I aim to fix that.

So my iTaste VV 3.0 stopped working today so I ran down to my local spot Sunset <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>vapor to get a new VV <acronym title="Advanced Personal <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>vaporizer, aka mod“>APV, specifically one that used 18650 batteries since i have quite a few for my modded surefire flashlights and didn’t want to buy any more batteries. The owner Bill and a friend of his were working on some very nice and very expensive copper mech mods which I don’t know much about so I hung out, tried some new <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>vape, and was quite intrigued when Bill showed me a couple of all copper mods that he had artificially accelerated the patina process giving one of them just a subtle amount where it really looked like the kind of patina that takes years. The other was "patina in the extreme", where it had blues and greens all over the thing and it looked really good. Well, instead of spending too much money on a Seven or Provari, I remembered the other day reading about how the ugly Vamo v3 is made of brass with a chrome plating. As a side job I restore antique furniture so i decided to save a lot of money and grab the Vamo and within an hour of getting home, I completely disassembled it, made a custom mandrel so I can spin the tube via my makita power drill and wet sand it down to bare brass. I then polished things up so it was like a mirror (the more polished the better when artificially antiquing) and this photo is where i’m at.

The brass used is pretty sub-par with hues of both yellow and red brass, but from my experience antiquing drawer pulls, knobs, etc… that bit of red brass usually brings extra color. I’ve gotta run down to the local supermarket and grab some clear ammonia (never use the sudsy or lemon stuff), so I’ll post some more photos in a bit once the brass gets some color going. just exposing brass to ammonia <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>vapor tends to bring greens and browns to the metal. Add some salt directly to the metal and it should see some killer blues, and hopefully red. The higher copper content of the reddish areas should.

be back in a bit. Hopefully this goes smoothly because it’s always a craps shoot.

Noob question on RDA’s

This might be a dumb question but I’m curious if certain RDA’s perform better with certain set ups.an example of what I’m asking: will a stillare function best at .5 ohms rather then .2 ohms (just using random number). Or say will a stillare function better with parallel coils over vertical coils etc. or is it pretty much lower ohms = bigger clouds and this holds true for every single rda. So my question summarized is, is there a perfect setup (coil build, ohms, wicking etc..)for each different rda to function at it’s full potential or is it pretty much all personal preference. Sorry new to the whole mods and rebuildable a and what not

Stupid patina…

So I tried to force a patina on my nemesis over night. I am aiming for the Green and blue look. I got it in parts, but not completely. Anyway, I let it soak in a paper towel drenched in a disgusting mixture of malt vinegar, mustard, and hot sauce. It came out like this, this morning…

Throughout the day, I <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>vape it constantly as it is currently my only reliable mod. A combination of excessive handling and a bit of ketchup to clean some thread patina left me with this..

Whyyyyy?!? I don’t have anything to clear coat it with, nor know how.

Help! How to get rid of strong flavor without access to pure PG or VG?

Hi guys, I finally decided to stop smoking and start vaping and ordered e-cig and e-liquid. As I was short with money I ordered one flavor(Hangsen-Fruit Cocktail,3x30ml) <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>juice only that was on discount. That <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>juice have so strong flavor of banana that I literally want to throw up. One of my friend <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>vapes so he gave me 10ml of Hangsen-Apple until I find something to solve this problem with overflavored <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>juice. As I can’t find pure PG or VG to dilute here in Bosnia&Herzegowina and ordering it online will take 3-4 weeks to arrive I please you to tell me what to do couse I don’t want to go back to analogs while waiting waiting those 3-4 weeks. To mix it with distiled water, drinking water, leave it open or something else? Sorry for my English, it’s 5:02 here in Bosnia.

mvp2 problems

i know it isn`t a really basic topic, but i haveto post 5 times here before i can go anywhere else.

to start, ive been using my mvp2 since my panzer boke and im waiting on a stingray that i ordered a few days ago. it was working fine and than all of the sudden when i plugged it in to charge it, the green charge light started erratically flickering (not like a normal blink). this battery has had its fair share of usage and hundreds of charges, so im thinking something could be loose in there? or is it just taking a poop on me. any advice would be helpful. id really like to have a battery to use for the next week or 2. being <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>vapeless is going to be hell.
